Qualifications

To become a Scout,

  • Be at least 11 years old, but less than 18 ,

OR

  • Have earned the Arrow of Light Award in Cub Scouts

They must know and be willing to live by the Scout Oath and Scout Law, and participate in troop and patrol activities. Their parents or guardian must be willing to work with them in the troop. The more involved the family is in Scouting, the more rewarding experience the scout discovers. We encourage parents to become trained leaders and can always find roles for volunteers.

A Completed BSA Application and Medical forms parts A and B are required before any scout or adult can participate in Troop activities as a member. Adult members must also complete the Youth Protection Training available online at MyScouting.org and furnish a copy of the certificate to the troop.

Meetings

The Troops meet every Wednesday from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm in the social hall for St. Andrews Catholic Church. Meetings are opportunities for the scouts to get to know others in their patrols, work on learning skills and showing mastery to earn rank advancement, and planning for activities.

Campouts

Campouts are scheduled monthly and usually cost around $25 per person for food & fees, which is collected two weeks prior to the campout. New scouts are encouraged to attend and gain experience camping with the troop while working on early rank requirements.
